Resource gathering is fundamental to survival and progression in Subnautica 2. Players collect materials from the ocean floor, outcrops, and creature drops to craft tools, build bases, construct vehicles, and create upgrades.

Celestine

Celestine is a new resource unique to Subnautica 2. It is the sole ingredient for crafting Strontium, which is essential for mid-to-late game vehicle upgrades and story progression items. Found in dangerous deep-sea areas — a Tadpole vehicle is recommended for safe collection.

Not in Early Access
Kyanite does not appear in the current EA build. It was a late-game resource in both Subnautica 1 and Below Zero (found in lava zones at 600m+ depth). It will likely be added in a future update.
